A tech giant corporation discovered an ancient time rift connecting higher-dimensional space. To monopolize energy, the tech giant concealed this discovery from the world. Its relentless exploitation eventually caused the temporal rift to go out of control, allowing non-Earthly spiritual energy to spread across the globe. Capitalizing on this upheaval, the giant accelerated its monopoly over the world.
